Swing Keel Installation

I don't have any pictures of the keel installation process, because it wasn't pretty !!!

Basically, I followed the reverse process that I used when taking the keel out, but it proved to be much more difficult. It took 10 hours to install the keel, whereas it was removed in only 2 hours. Gravity may have been a factor, but who knows. The biggest challenge was getting the keel back to its upright position, which required successive jacking and blocking. Additional factors where that the keel was about 75 lbs heavier than when it was removed, and the weight was distributed further to the rear of the keel. This called for a different lifting process, which took a while to figure out.

Anyway, job done. The keel has worked well. The boat feels stiffer and seems to sail better.
