Color Scheme Change
Color Scheme Change
The color scheme on the boat is known as the “Palm Beach” color scheme, featuring a mix of Magenta, Teal Green and Purple. The boats with this color scheme come in 3 variations, with one of the 3 colors being the predominant color. Well, my boat happened to have the Magenta (aka Pink) as the predominant color. I would have preferred the Purple or the Teal as the top color, but you can’t have everything, I guess.
So, I was considering a change to the color scheme that would have one of the other colors as the predominant ‘top’ color to the scheme and design. I wanted to see what these potential color changes would look like before I committed to a particular change. So, with the aid of computer graphics and digital photography, I was able to alter the color scheme of the original photos, essentially simulating the color change. I was also able to simulate a change up in the color combinations, to see if alternate colors would blend.
My goal was not to open up a can of worms, as I had to stay consistent with the interiors colors, which pretty much matched the exterior colors. The canvas color (Teal) was also a consideration as well. Some various color changes are in the pictures below . . .
Original Color Scheme
Magenta
Teal
Purple
Option #1
Teal
Magenta
Purple
Easy to do and compliments the existing design well
Option #2
Purple
Magenta
Teal
Does not work with the design as well, nor the canvas
Option #3
Sky Blue
Magenta
Purple
May not be a good match of colors
Option #4
Red
Teal
Purple
May not be a good match of colors, works better with the canvas
My thoughts were that the Teal on top (option #1) would work the best in terms of demoting the Pink, staying with the color scheme and working well with the design pattern. I was also curious of what a close-up image of the pattern would look like, as well as some other color combinations . . . in case I got carried away.
