7 Foot-itis

“7 foot-itis” is a more severe case of the familiar “2 Foot-itis” and “4 foot-itis”,  the disease that strikes boaters and prompts them to get a bigger boat.  I see much dialog on the Internet about folks wanting to trade up 2 feet or 4 feet in the size of their next boat.   In trading up, I was planning on going up about 4 feet (24 to 28) and ended up going up 9 feet . . . Well actually 7 feet in overall length, as my 24 foot boat was 26 feet overall with the swim platform.  So, we will call it “7 foot-itis”.

Just for comparison, pictured below is what the 2 boats would look like side-by-side.

F-242SS  26’ 0” LOA, 8’ 0” Beam  4,750 lbs.

F-330SS  33’ 0” LOA, 10’ 2” Beam 9,000 lbs.

It looks like I will not need a bigger boat any time soon . . .
