Boat Transport Day

I hired a transporter, local to my home port that a friend recommended, to transport the boat from Lake Winnipesaukee NH to its new home on Cape Cod.  The transporter has a hydraulic trailer that can place the boat on my blocks and stands.  I could also use this transporter for my seasonal launch and haul-outs.

Here are some pictures of the day - Sept 25th, 2012 - starting from the pump-out dock, heading to the travel lift, loading the boat to the trailer, making the drive to Cape Cod and setting the boat in my driveway.

Below are some pictures upon arrival at the boat’s new home.  The tailer comes apart so that the boat can be set on blocks and then the trailer can be pulled out from underneath the boat.  It is quite a process.  Using a local hauler proved to be more cost effective than the national haulers.

HULL CLEANING

The hull was stained from being in the water all season.  So, cleaning the hull was a priority before the stain set in too much.  I tried a variety of cleaners, but the stain proved to be mineral based rather than organic.  So, I used a product called Iron Out, which is a rust stain remover.  The Iron Out took the stain off pretty much immediately with no scrubbing; just a quick rinse.

Below is a picture of the boat with the hull cleaned up. . .
